BIODIVERSITY SERVICES & BNG
Developers and consultants are subject to more complicated schemes each year, stalling projects and complicating delivery. BNG is a major government scheme and is now mandatory to combat biodiversity loss.
GroundLord Environmental offers a solution to BNG, providing fully delivery, from assessments, to management plan creation and execution.
Assessments
Working with our partners, we can deliver BNG assessments that give the baseline data for your proposed development or site that you are considering for BNG mitigation An on site team will walk over the site and map the habitats and conditions.
Habitat management and monitoring Plan
Each BNG scheme must have a HMMP to describe how the scheme will be delivered and how it will be maintained for the future. Using our extensive background in habitat creation and management, we are ideally placed to work with landowners or developers to create a plan that is sustainable, cost effective and delivers habitats to a high standard.
Delivery
We offer maintenance of the schemes going forward, helping maintain and improve habitats such as meadows, woodlands and wetlands. This is crucial for the schemes but we manage in a way that helps improve aesthetics of the developments.
Mitigation Project Strategy: when confronted with a scheme for a development we have a set strategy which we follow to allow us to make the best judgement to make sure we create the best possible project to actively increase biodiversity:
• Identify the ecological features of the site and its importance within the area - this may be key species or habitats.
• Identify ways to reduce loss by good design work and limiting changes on site - working with the client to produce the best outcome for biodiversity but without being financially unviable.
• Create a detailed plan/project design to deliver the key objectives with the maximum outcome project delivery. A high standard of work that
• Develop a plan for the long term management of the project and how biodiversity is secured for the future.
